A forehead lift removes excess fat and skin to tighten the muscles in the forehead area and any sagging eyebrows. How we execute your surgery depends on the type that you get.
A temporal lift is where the surgeon makes small incisions just behind the hairline near the temples.
The direct brow lift works by removing the skin above the eyebrows.
The coronal lift requires making an incision behind the hairline across the top of the head, from ear to ear, or primarily on the top of the head. After this, they lift your forehead into its new position, with the scalp in front of the incision overlapping the scalp behind it. Your provider removes the overlapping scalp, and they sew the remaining scalp together. We don’t typically perform this technique on people who have high hairlines, thin hair, or who are likely to lose their hair.
The hairline lift is where your surgeon makes an incision between the top of the forehead and the beginning of the hairline. They remove a small amount of skin and tissue from the top of the forehead, rather than your scalp to fix a high hairline.
At McGuiness Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, we work to find the right forehead lift to improve your appearance. Your consultation will determine where your provider places your incisions.
