Depending on your needs, there are three different types of otoplasty. Each type focuses on a different goal. During your consultation, your provider will evaluate you and determine the best way to alter your ears.
Ear pinning
Surgeons recommend ear pinning for people with prominent ears that stick out. The goal of ear pinning is to bring your ears closer to the sides of your head. They do this by reshaping the malformed cartilage within your ears.
Ear reduction
Ear reductions are great for those who want smaller ears or feel like their ears are oversized. During this procedure, your trained specialist will remove tissue from your ears to help them appear smaller.
Ear augmentation
People who have misshapen ears require ear augmentation. We do this by increasing the outer portion of your ear and developing a more normal shape. This usually requires cartilage or tissue grafting.
