Dr. Kevin Patel, MD, FAAD, completed his medical training at Chicago Medical School, where he graduated first in his class and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. With a strong focus on epidemiologic research aimed at improving the cost and accessibility of care for skin diseases, he has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for multiple leading dermatology journals.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Patel initially aspired to become a veterinarian. His path shifted during college after volunteering at a free health clinic, where he discovered a passion for medicine. His interest in dermatology is rooted in a deep awareness of the psychosocial and financial burdens associated with skin disease. He is committed to helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their own skin, recognizing the profound impact dermatologic conditions can have on overall well-being.
Dr. Patel began his dermatology training at the University of Texas at Austin, where he served as Chief Resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery under Dr. Hubert Greenway, a direct trainee of Dr. Frederic Mohs, the pioneer of the technique. He also trained with Dr. Vic Ross, a leader in the development of many modern laser-based therapies widely used in clinical practice today.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Patel enjoys exploring new restaurants, scuba diving, hiking, traveling, and experiencing diverse cultures and cuisines. He also values spending quality time with family and friends.
