We treat a variety of areas for loose skin removal. During your consultation, we will discuss which is the right treatment for you.
We can target the following areas:
Panniculectomy
A panniculectomy removes an excess part of skin called a pannus. This piece of skin hangs below the belly button, and it can begin to show after weight loss. The incision is located just above the pubic bone.
Thigh & buttock lift
A thigh and buttock lift removes excess skin to tighten and smooth the legs and buttocks areas. Your surgeon will place the incisions in the groin, the natural crease beneath the buttocks, or low on the hips. The benefit of these incision locations is that you can easily conceal the scars.
Arm lift
By creating an incision along the underside of the upper arm, we remove loose skin and excess fat. By doing this, you get a firmer, toned upper arm appearance.
Back lift
We perform this procedure to reduce “bra rolls” and contour your upper back to be firmer. We typically make the incisions for this along the bra line. You can easily conceal the scars from these incisions in clothing.
Breast lift surgery
We perform breast lifts to remove excess skin and reshape the breasts. This helps patients achieve a lifted look for their breasts while also improving symmetry.
How you recover from your loose skin removal session is important for ensuring optimal results. Depending on which type of skin removal, there may be specific precautions that you’ll need to take.
However, the following precautions apply to all types of skin removal:
- Take pain relievers.
- Change bandages.
- Apply ointments frequently.
- Don’t for at least the first week.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity for at least six weeks.
- Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and walk to prevent blood clots.
Your provider will give you temporary tubes to drain any excess fluid out of your body. You’ll have these tubes in place for a week or two. If you experience an abdominal procedure, do not stand upright for a few days. If you’ve received a lower body procedure, we recommend sleeping with your knees elevated. During your consultation, your provider will go over your post-care process.
