Our Dermatology Services

  • Skin Check

A skin check is a life-saving, 10-minute appointment that monitors your risk of skin cancer. A board-certified dermatologist examines your skin from head-to-toe for signs of skin cancer, which may include a new or changing mole, a discolored patch of skin, frequently bleeding sores, wounds or sores, or rough and scaly lesions.

In addition to assessing your risk of skin cancer at our office for dermatology in Plano, we also check for other skin conditions, including acne, warts, rashes, moles, and rosacea.

After your skin examination, your dermatologist may offer lifestyle advice to improve your skin’s health.

  • Mohs Surgery

Mohs surgery is considered the gold-standard for skin cancer removal. This procedure involves identifying where skin cancer is present and gradually removing a thin layer of skin. We examine the skin under a microscope and repeat this process until only cancer-free tissue remains.

For your comfort, we apply a numbing medication before and during the procedure.

  • Rash Treatments

Rashes appear in different shapes, sizes, and colors, with varying symptoms. It’s best to trust our team of board-certified dermatologists for accurate diagnoses and an appropriate treatment plan.

While some rashes may require a simple ointment or topical medication to treat, others are lifelong and therefore require constant management. At our center for dermatology in Plano, we provide support, expertise, and even lifestyle advice for patients with chronic rashes like rosacea, psoriasis, or eczema—to name a few.

  • Rosacea Laser Treatment

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that causes acne-like bumps and pimples and visible blood vessels. On lighter skin tones, it causes persistent redness; while on darker skin tones, it causes a dusky brown discoloration to your skin.

As of now, there is no known cause or cure for rosacea. However, there are plenty of treatments and management options to calm the inflammation. At our practice for dermatology in Plano, we help you identify triggers for rosacea flare-ups. These can range from certain foods, stress, weather, and much more.

We also offer laser skin treatments like the Excel V, which delivers precise beams of green light into the skin to destroy abnormal and visible blood vessels.

In addition to laser and light treatments, we also offer at-home products formulated with soothing and gentle ingredients to strengthen sensitive skin and minimize redness.

  • Acne Treatments

Acne can appear as whiteheads, blackheads, cysts, papules, or nodules. The one thing they have in common? No one wants them on their skin. Fortunately, our dermatologists are equipped to diagnose the type of acne you have and determine the root-cause of it.

Acne can form from hormonal imbalances, diet, or lifestyle choices. To help reduce or clear your acne, our dermatologists can prescribe you a cleanser, cream, oral medication, or topical solution. We also offer lifestyle and dietary advice so you can keep your acne at bay.

  • Cystic Pimple Treatment

One stand-apart acne treatment that we offer is cystic pimple treatment. A lot of patients come in with these painful, pus-filled pimples that develop under their skin. Your at-home skin care routine may not be able to penetrate your skin deeply enough to target the bacteria, oil, and dead skin trapped in your pores.

At our practice for dermatology in Plano, we don’t just simply treat the existing cystic pimples on your body; we also create a personalized treatment plan to prevent them from returning. Our treatment options range from oral medications, injections, incisions, and lifestyle guidance.

  • Lesion Removal

Unwanted masses like small skin lesions, cysts, and lipomas can be removed to improve the health of your skin and boost your confidence. This process involves cutting the mass out of your skin along with some of the surrounding tissue. We administer local anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable throughout this hour-long procedure.

Lesion removal ‌requires only 1 session, and the duration of results lasts a lifetime.

Our Medical Aesthetics Treatments

  • Botox

Botox relaxes muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles—those that appear when you make expressions. With restricted movement, your muscles can’t contract as much, keeping the skin from folding or creasing. Not only do these injections soften existing wrinkles, they also prevent new ones from forming.

Different brands of injectables, like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, can all provide more than wrinkle reduction. They can also be injected into the jaw muscles to relax them, creating a slimmer jawline and a more V-shaped profile.

We can use Botox for a lip flip at our center for dermatology in Plano to reduce the appearance of excess gum tissue when smiling. When we inject the Botox, it relaxes the underlying muscle and allows the lip to roll slightly upward, covering more gums and even creating the illusion of fuller, more voluminous lips.

You can expect Botox to last for 3 to 4 months before you need to return to our office for a maintenance session.

  • Fillers

Fillers are often recommended for wrinkles that remain even when the face is at rest (static wrinkles). This injectable uses hyaluronic acid (HA) to replenish lost volume and “fill in” lines that have formed.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that has the ability to hold up to 1,000x its weight in water. As you age, your body produces less and less of this moisture-retaining humectant, which contributes to fine lines, wrinkles, thin lips, and sagging skin.

Fillers can do more than improve the appearance of wrinkles. They can also add volume to your lips and improve your facial contours.

You can enjoy your results from fillers for 6 months or even up to 1 year before returning to our office for a maintenance treatment.

    Facials

A facial is more than a pampering treatment—though we can’t deny that it does feel quite luxurious—it’s also an essential step in improving the health of your skin.

At our center for dermatology in Plano, we offer 1 facial: the Hydrafacial. This facial involves a series of steps aimed at targeting your unique concerns. It starts with cleansing your face and gently exfoliating your skin to reveal a new, healthy layer. Next, we use a suction tool to painlessly extract impurities and build-up in your skin. Finally, we saturate the skin with targeted serums aimed to address specific concerns like dry or oily skin, wrinkles, acne, dullness, etc.

We recommend getting facials all year long. Not only can they help prepare your skin for the weather change ahead, but they can also improve your personal skincare routine and ensure your complexion remains radiant and healthy, no matter the season.

  • Patient tilts her head to the side as the provider places the SkinPen microneedling device along her jawline to tighten the skin and improve its tone and texture.

    Microneedling

Microneedling involves using a handheld device equipped with thousands of tiny, hair-like needles to create micro-injuries in your skin. This process kickstarts your body’s natural healing abilities and boosts the production of 2 skin-healing proteins: collagen and elastin. These proteins give your skin structure, strength, and flexibility while also aiding in the process of replacing old, damaged skin cells with new, healthy ones.

From hyperpigmentation and wrinkles to skin laxity and acne scarring, microneedling addresses them all. You can stop into our office for dermatology in Plano to experience the benefits of this treatment on your face, abdomen, legs, arms, and more.

  • Laser Skin Treatments

Laser and light therapies target a myriad of skin conditions. From rosacea to acne to wrinkles and skin laxity, and much more, we offer a range of devices that can be personalized to your unique concerns, some of which are safe for all skin types and tones.

Laser and light therapies create controlled injuries in your skin to kick-start your body’s production of collagen and elastin. These two proteins give your skin structure, strength, and flexibility. As you age, your body’s production of collagen and elastin declines, leaving you more susceptible to forming wrinkles and fine lines. By stimulating the production of these proteins, we are improving your skin health from the inside out.

  • Emface

Emface is a noninvasive facial contouring device offered at our offices for dermatology in Plano and Prosper. This treatment uses high-intensity facial electromagnetic stimulation (HIFES) to trigger muscle contractions under the skin.

In a single 20-minute session, Emface induces up to 20,000 facial muscle contractions to improve muscle tone and naturally lifts your skin to a more youthful position.

At the same time, this device emits radiofrequency (RF) energy deep into your dermis (middle layer of skin) to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

From jowls to fine lines and wrinkles to slackened skin around the cheekbones, this treatment gently and effectively targets and reduces all of these concerns and more. It also boasts no downtime, meaning you can continue your day as usual after each session.
