Rhinoplasty is a popular option for making dramatic improvements to your aesthetics. However, this procedure has a broader purpose than just cosmetic—it can help your breathing, too.
For example, a nose job can improve a deviated septum. The septum is the cartilage and bone separating your nasal passages. When that cartilage is off-center, it causes a deviated septum, which which makes it difficult to breathe through your nose, especially on 1 side. If you have a deviated septum, you may also notice congestion, further contributing to breathing problems.
Allergies, sinus problems, and having narrow nasal airways (nasal valves) can prevent air from flowing through your nose.
For your rhinoplasty in Plano, we can improve breathing with these different surgeries:
- Nasal Septoplasty: Corrects a deviated nasal septum.
- Inferior Turbinate Reduction: Removes excess tissue around your turbinate bones (small, bony structures inside of your nose) if they become inflamed or swollen from allergies or infection.
- Nasal Valve Repair: Strengthens and enlarges abnormally narrow places within the nose.
- Cartilage Grafts: Corrects a crooked nose or a low bridge. We also use this technique to support the nose during a rhinoplasty.
